Chad Shoemaker – Physical Therapy Assistant/Co-Owner
Chad Shoemaker began his career at EPT&SIC in 1996 and became a co-owner in January, 2012. He is a graduate from Elkins High School, Davis & Elkins College, and the physical therapy assistant program at Fairmont State. Chad specializes in orthopedic rehab and sports related injuries. He serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Elkins/Randolph County YMCA and is a proud member of the Tygart Valley Lodge 66 IOOF. He spends his free time with his wife Christie and his girls, Sara and Sophie.
John DiBacco – Physical Therapist/Co-Owner
John DiBacco began his career at EPT&SIC in 1998 and became a co-owner in January, 2012. He is a graduate from Elkins High School, West Virginia University, and the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Slippery Rock. John is certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), work conditioning, and ASTYM. He is a member of the APTA and specializes in orthopedic rehab. John spends his free time with his wife Erin and being an active Boy Scout Leader for his boys, Michael and Ryan. He is a member of the Saint Brendan Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Allison D’Angelo – Co-Owner
Allison D’Angelo started work at EPT&SIC as a summer receptionist in 1999, and became full-time in October, 2007. Allison is a graduate from Elkins High School and Regis College. She oversees the business office and fills in for Amy and Jane. Allison is a member of the Saint Brendan Catholic Church and enjoys spending her free time with husband Jacob and two kids, Lauren and Lucas.
Gwen Kerns – Physical Therapist
Gwen Kerns started at EPT&SIC in January 2013 as a physical therapist. She is a graduate of the West Virginia University Physical Therapy Program and has over 30 years’ experience primarily in orthopedics and manual therapy. Gwen was trained by Kinetacore for functional dry needling and her patients have truly benefited. She loves boating and spending time with her family, husband Gary and kids Alissa and Jared.
Vanessa Bennett – Physical Therapist
Vanessa Bennett, physical therapist, joined our team in 2009. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Shenandoah University. Vanessa is ASTYM certified and specializes in manual therapies for post-operative cases and athletic injuries. Vanessa loves to spend her down time with her husband Darren and their children Claire and Delaney. She is an active member of the National Ski Patrol and spends most winter weekends at Timberline Four Seasons Resort.
Linda Mallow – Physical Therapy Assistant
Linda Mallow began her career at EPT&SIC in 1991 as a physical therapy aide. Then she went to Fairmont State physical therapy assistant program and graduated with honors in 1998. Linda loves working with her patients and helping them on their road to recovery.
Anita Thompson – Physical Therapy Assistant
Anita Thompson joined the EPT&SIC family in August, 2013. She is a 2002 graduate of the Fairmont State physical therapy assistant program and received her bachelors’ degree in Psychology in 2006. Anita’s career has been spent with orthopedic and geriatric patients. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two kids. Anita is an active member of St. Patrick’s Church in Coalton and the Roaring Creek Lions Club.
Sherry Gibson – Physical Therapy Aide
Sherry began working at EPT&SIC in August, 1999 as a physical therapy aide. She teaches our aquatic classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Sherry is a vital member of our team by keeping both patients and therapists focused on their recovery. She is a wife, mother of three children and grandmother of two. She enjoys vacationing at the beach and taking care of her dogs.
Amy Knavenshue – Office Manager
Amy, our amazing receptionist, joined EPT&SIC in March of 2000. She is a wife, a mother to two children and a grandmother. Amy knows every patient’s name and keeps the office running smoothly.
Jane Vance – Billing
Jane joined the EPT&SIC staff in November, 2012, and has over 15 years’ experience in medical billing. She is a proud wife, mother of 2 daughters and a grandmother. She attends the Landmark Baptist Church, sings in their choir and works with their youth group. Jane enjoys crafts, reading, shopping and traveling.
