ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Addyson Cogar Junior Girls Soccer
Isaac Anger Junior Boys Soccer
This week we head to the soccer field to find our female and male athletes of the week. First up is Addy, she scored 4 goals in the win over Liberty HS earlier in the season. She also found the back of the net in the win over the North Marion Huskies which was the winning goal for the Tigers. She picks up where she left off last season where she was the teams leading scorer as a Sophomore. She has risen to the challenge as being a team leader on the field.
Isaac Anger also is proven to be a leader on the field. He scored the lone goal in the win over Herbert Hoover and found the goal again against the Lincoln Cougars to give the Tigers the win. That goal coming off a header into the net. This is his first season playing with the Tigers. He has been of course a dominant force in the swimming pool and it’s great to see him on the soccer field this year. Congrats to both student athletes and to their respective teams!! Keep up the great work!

FEMALE & MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

EPT&SIC Athlete of the Week is back and starting off the fall sports season we head to the soccer field and the golf course!
Our female athlete is Maddie Belan of the women’s soccer team. Maddie played stellar this season and has helped the Lady Tigers get off to a good start. Maddie plays defensive mid-field and on the defensive line. She scored a goal in the win against Pocahontas County and earned her player of the game for her team. The early competition the Tigers have seen is some of the best in the state and will prove valuable as they continue into their schedule. Best of Luck to the lady tigers and we look forward to cheering Maddie and her teammates on.
Our Male athlete is exchange student Javier “Javitxu” Crespo Gomez from Spain. Javitxu has made an early name for himself on the links being the low medalist in several early golf matches and helping the Tigers claim 1st in several multi team matches. Javitxu’s mother Carman was a 1992 Elkins High School graduate and he is excited to play for her alma mater. He is going to help lead the EHS golf team into some big tournaments in the coming weeks, Big 10, Regionals and hopefully STATES! Best of luck to Javitxu and his fellow golfers- Go Tigers!
Get Up, Get Here, Get Better!
