Another Tiger Golf team member becomes our Male Athlete of the Week. Ivan led the Tigers with a low score of a 47 against Fairmont Sr. on the Tigers home course last week. Coach Baird was very pleased that Ivan was shooting to his potential leading into the Big 10 conference championships. We want to say congratulations to Ivan and the entire Tiger team!
This week we honor Gabby Bedford as our female athlete of the week. The Senior golfer put up a 52 against Fairmont Sr. at the Elks Country Club. Coach David Baird said he was very happy with her performance especially in her last Big 10 match and on their home course. We are very proud of Gabby and the EHS Golf team!
A new face to our Athlete of the Week is EHS Golfer Tanner Miller. In his first season for the Tigers, Tanner has been consistently improving and making a name for himself. Last week Tanner scored a low score of 46 and helped the Tigers to a 3rd place finish in Big 10 play. Coach David Baird was happy to see a 40 round out of his young golfer and sees good things to come. Congrats Tanner and keep hitting them far and straight!
The Lady Tigers Volleyball team has had a good start to the season with solid play all around and leading the way is Senior Sam Price. Last week against Liberty the senior recorded 14 kills and 5 ACE serves. They found themselves down in the 3rd match, but rallied back from 9 to garner the win. We are proud of Sam and the entire volleyball team! The hard work is paying off and this team is really exciting to watch.
This weeks Male Athlete of the Week is Senior soccer player Devan Fletcher. Devan had a solid performance last week in the Tigers win over the Knights of Preston County 4-0. Devan was able to find the scoring column on two occasions last Thursday. He scored in both the first half and again in the second half helping the Tigers secure the win. Devan also has been having a solid effort early in the season and continues to be a leader to a young core group players. Congrats Devan and the entire Tiger team!
The Lady Tigers soccer team is off to another great start to the season at 5-2 and a large part is due to the play of Senior Isabella Karlen. This past week Isabella helped her team get in the win column twice by scoring on a Penalty Kick against the Knights of Preston Co and then went on the road and recorded a hat trick against Petersburg. She has been able to make terrific reads on the defense and her ball placement helping set up her teammates for scoring opportunities has also been a huge reason for their early success! Congrats to her and the entire Lady Tigers soccer team! Keep up the great work!
