Gabby Bedford-Senior EHS Golf

This week we honor Gabby Bedford as our female athlete of the week. The Senior golfer put up a 52 against Fairmont Sr. at the Elks Country Club. Coach David Baird said he was very happy with her performance especially in her last Big 10 match and on their home course. We are very proud of Gabby and the EHS Golf team!

Tanner Miller-Freshman EHS Golf

A new face to our Athlete of the Week is EHS Golfer Tanner Miller. In his first season for the Tigers, Tanner has been consistently improving and making a name for himself. Last week Tanner scored a low score of 46 and helped the Tigers to a 3rd place finish in Big 10 play. Coach David Baird was happy to see a 40 round out of his young golfer and sees good things to come. Congrats Tanner and keep hitting them far and straight!

Samantha Price-Senior Volleyball

The Lady Tigers Volleyball team has had a good start to the season with solid play all around and leading the way is Senior Sam Price. Last week against Liberty the senior recorded 14 kills and 5 ACE serves. They found themselves down in the 3rd match, but rallied back from 9 to garner the win. We are proud of Sam and the entire volleyball team! The hard work is paying off and this team is really exciting to watch.

Devan Fletcher-Senior Soccer

This weeks Male Athlete of the Week is Senior soccer player Devan Fletcher. Devan had a solid performance last week in the Tigers win over the Knights of Preston County 4-0. Devan was able to find the scoring column on two occasions last Thursday. He scored in both the first half and again in the second half helping the Tigers secure the win. Devan also has been having a solid effort early in the season and continues to be a leader to a young core group players. Congrats Devan and the entire Tiger team!

Isabella Karlen-Senior Soccer

The Lady Tigers soccer team is off to another great start to the season at 5-2 and a large part is due to the play of Senior Isabella Karlen. This past week Isabella helped her team get in the win column twice by scoring on a Penalty Kick against the Knights of Preston Co and then went on the road and recorded a hat trick against Petersburg. She has been able to make terrific reads on the defense and her ball placement helping set up her teammates for scoring opportunities has also been a huge reason for their early success! Congrats to her and the entire Lady Tigers soccer team! Keep up the great work!

Addie Berdine Cross Country

Once again, Athlete of the Week is back! We are super excited for the 2019-2020 season!
We are happy to name, Addie Berdine as our first Female Athlete of the Week! Addie ran in the St. Mary’s Autumn Classic Invitational this past weekend! She placed 13th out of 125 runners with a time of 21:50. She earned a spot on the podium for the Lady Tigers! She has set the bar high for this season and we are super proud and excited to see the season continue! Congrats to her and the entire Tiger team!!

Luke Anger Cross Country

Athlete of the Week is back! We start out with CC boys team member, Luke Anger! Luke had an awesome start to the 2019 season. At the St. Mary’s Autumn Classic Invitational this past Saturday, he finished 11th out of 183 runners! His time of 17:39 helped earn him a podium spot! We are extremely proud of Luke and the entire Tiger team!! Way to start the season Tigers!

EHS 2019 STATE TRACK MEMBERS

This week our Athletes of the week go to the EHS Track team! We are super proud of all of you! Your hard work and dedication paid off and you set the bar high for seasons to come! Congratulations to the seniors! We wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors!
A special shout out to Tiara Rowe. She finished 4th overall in the 100m and 200m races and anchored the 4x200m relay team to a school record! Members included Triplett, Howell, and Edwards!
One other shout out goes to Mason Kimbelton! A junior, Mason qualified for the 200m finals placing 7th! He also made it to states competing in the 4x100m, 4x200m, and the 100m!

Noah Carr & Danny Corley EHS Tennis

The Dynamic Duo entered the Class AA-A
Region II tournament as the #4 seed last week with hopes to go in and play solid and see what happens. What they did was actually play awesome knocking off top seed and previously undefeated team of Brazilier and Chambers in the semi’s 9-8. After that they defeated the doubles team from Parkersburg Catholic in the Regional Championship match becoming Regional Champs and earning a berth in States!! We are extremely proud of both and also congratulate Danny Corley on advancing as the #2 seed in singles play to States!! Way to go Tigers and good luck!!

Sofia Triplett-Junior EHS Track

Sofia competed in the Big Ten Championship Track meet this past week. She placed in all her events which included
2nd Place-200m
5th Place-400m
Anchored the 4x100m to a 1st team All Big Ten Conference Championship. Congrats and continued success!! We are very proud of you and lo the Tigers!
